To Julius Ceasar, the Ides of March was not such a wonderful day. To the rest of us, it is only the day that falls in the middle of the month, a short distance from the official start of spring.
Here in NW Arkansas, the Ides of March is beautiful, clear-skied and sunny. Trees are putting out new leaves. Early flowers are blooming. The coffee is good and hot. Looks pretty good to me.
Like it or not (and I doubt it was planned this way) the Ides will be fateful for the Presidential candidates. For some, it will be a wonderful celebration of victory; for others, it will be an agonizing time of defeat.
With all the blessings the Lord has given me, I believe this will be a good Ides. “This is the day which the Lord hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
The gorgeous photo sums up your words beautifully, Blanche.
Thanks so much, Josephine.
