Black-eyed peas and cornbread with Matt, Dawn, Sara and Nathan yesterday. Sara baked the cornbread. Very good. With such an auspicious start to the year, it is bound to be a humdinger.
The weather is beautiful, my older brother who has been ill is feeling better, writing assignments are coming along well.
Scripture for the New Year: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end – Jeremiah 29:11.
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new –II Corinthian 5:17.
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness – Lamentations 3:22-23.
Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before — Philippians 3:13.
Good-bye, 2015. I’m determined not to remember any hurts, failures, harsh words, worries, or evil that has come at me. I’m carrying forth into 2016 the love, the acceptance, the faith, trust, accomplishments, hope, and beauty of family and friends which surround me.
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorites – also the next verse. Am still working away at my book. SO relieved I didn’t have to rewrite the ending! Have a great day, Blanche.
Thanks, Sharon. I hope you have a great day too. Congratulations on that ending.
Blanche, great to hear your brother is feeling better! I know that lightens your heart!
Sure would have liked some of your New Years dinner!! : )
Wonderful Scripture to start the New Year with as well as your 2016 “goals” that we should all determine for ourselves Thank you for putting in into words!!
Thanks for writing, Fran. You would have been very welcome at our black-eyed peas and cornbread dinner! Thanks for the encouragement throughout each year.
I love the scriptures, Aunt Blanche! And I am so glad Uncle Tracy is doing better!
