After four days of rain and cloudy skies, yesterday’s sky was blue and the day was lovely. It was a perfect time to take my cozy mystery books to the Thompson House in Tahlequah in preparation for their Victorian Christmas Fair which will be this weekend.
Sometimes there are not enough hours in the day, especially when that day invites getting out in it. I visited with family and friends and admired, once again, the house that once belonged to Tahlequah’s Dr. Thompson.
That house was the inspiration for Uncle Javin’s house in Moonlight Can Be Murder. The book’s cover is similar although it is not a picture of the Thompson House. As I described in the book what it looked like, I had in mind the real house.
It is a unique house that can’t be replicated. It has history and an ambience that is welcoming, a sort of warmth and home feeling.
One of my Pinterest boards is “Houses with Character.” A house doesn’t have to be old or costly or large to have that special attraction. Houses have personalities that reflect their character, just as people do. To me, every house has a story and I’m fascinated by them. So, by the way, is Ned McNeil. This weekend, Ned, Darcy, and Flora will take up residence, at least for a short while in the Thompson House.
I really enjoyed Moonlight Can Be Murder! Looking forward to the next Ned McNeil mystery!
Thanks, Eva. I’m glad you enjoyed Ned McNeil’s first adventure!
