A Morning Celebration

A Morning Celebration

Each morning when I get out of bed, I feel like celebrating! It’s great to be alive, to have a new day before me, to visit with family and friends, to be able to write again! Wonderful.

And, I’m enjoying my first cup of Folgers. Some of my instructions from the hospital said to beware of caffeinated drinks. Other directions in the same take-home package said caffeine drinks are OK. I’m thinking probably if I use common sense and don’t over-do, it’ll be all right and I’m also mixing de-cafe Folgers with the regular. But, not to worry–Darcy and Flora don’t have that problem and they’ll continue drinking good old straight coffee, preferably Folgers, with caffeine.

The water fountain in the container garden is supplying a creek-like sound this morning. Not a leaf stirs on the maple, and the grass is still green and lush after plenty of rain this summer. The weatherman says this will be a hot, muggy day and if it’s like yesterday, it certainly will be that. But, this is August, what can we expect in Arkansas and Oklahoma? It’s this way every year. However, Dawn and I are looking forward to fall and coolness and all the delightful things that go with that season of the year.

To help you get through the summer mugginess and ease you into another time, another season, may I suggest cozy mysteries? Here are a few more that I’ve enjoyed lately. You can find them all on amazon.com. Two Birds with One Stone by Sigrid Vansandt;  Christmas Carol Murder by Leslie Meir; and Murder a la Christie by Marilyn Levinson. For spiritual encouragement, a book by my friend Nancy Kay Grace, The Grace Impact and a day by day devotional by fellow Pennell writer Janet K. Brown, Divine Dining.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us enjoy it!                                                                                                                                                      _____________________________________________________________________________                      http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=blanche+day+manos

After reading the first two books in the Darcy and Flora cozy mysteries, I was eager to get into Book Three. It did not disappoint. I liked the way secrets about Darcy and Flora’s family were uncovered. The book was aptly named because before the mystery was finished, Darcy wondered if perhaps some things were Best Left Buried. I hope more books are in the works. I hate to leave Levi and Darcy and Flora.” review by an Amazon reader005

  1. Blanche, I’m celebrating the morning with you and know you enjoyed that coffee! Good sense to be aware of caffeine intake! Not fun, but smart! : )
We’re all glad you’re back and writing! Love, Fran
