My niece Missy sent me this news item. I posted it on my Facebook page, but just in case you missed it, I want to re-post it here. This is amazing! I can imagine the classroom full of little girls with long dresses and high-button shoes, little boys with eyes full of mischief and a teacher who was evidently creative and a pretty good artist! It’s like the class just left the room yesterday, chalkboard full of teaching items for the next day, then disappeared into the mists of time.
What an opportunity for the imagination to soar!
Thanks, Missy, for sending this treasure trove of memories.

That was really interesting seeing the old school days! In many ways, such a lovely innocent time. There has been much advancement but unfortunately, it has also brought some negative results. I read some of the comments on Facebook and it hurts to see how so many have become bitter over Bible standards.
I agree, Sharon. My mom was just a child in 1917 and Dad was a teenager. In those days, school was begun with a Bible reading and prayer and a flag salute. It is troubling to see how values are not the same as they once were. When we think we know more about right and wrong than God does, we are in trouble.
