Cozy Critter Friends

Cozy Critter Friends

A cold rain is falling this morning but I am reminded that a warm circle of friends can brighten the darkest day. Sometimes I marvel at how the Lord brought us Cozy Critters together to have a good time giggling and reading and critiquing and sharing insights into what makes a fascinating book, article, or poem. Along the way, our writing gets sharper and our friendship gets stronger.

Yesterday everyone had something pretty neat to share. Nancy is doing a lot of guest blogging. Here is a schedule of her upcoming guest posts:

May 14 Interruptions, Distractions, and … God’s Peace?     http://nicholehall.com/blog/
May  15 Author Interview on Friday Feature   http://debralbutterfield.com
May 15 Wordless Wednesday, Generosity,   http://arkansaswomenbloggers.com
May 20   Featured Author recipe  http://www.countryatheartrecipes.com
May 22 Pressing On In God’s Grace https://storywritingstudio.wordpress.com/
June         Feature article, The Grace Impact    http://cherishedmagazine.com

She has also been contacted by an editor of a digital magazine, Cherished, about writing an inspirational article. She shared a couple of interesting finds: a Recipe Blog, Country at Heart, recipes of writers. And, ARWB, Arkansas Women Bloggers.

Peg’s leg is healing nicely and she is back into reading, a sure sign that she’s feeling better. She had two books to tell us about, Hiss and Tell, a Sunny and Shadow Cat Mystery by Claire Donnally, and Shadow of a Spout, a tea shop mystery by Amanda Cooper.

Jane kept us enthralled with her poetry. She had written two new ones, My Willow Tree Play House, a remembrance of her childhood, and Like Leaves We Will Fall, which had deep philosophical insight. She re-read a story/historical poem called Poem to Johnson, Arkansas. A copy of this is also with the Shiloh Museum, Springdale, Arkansas.

Helen, who inspired all of us with her insight, brought a story she had written which was picked up by The Secret Place, Patiently Waiting. She shared two other encouraging articles, Bunk House Hospitality and Serving God Or A God which I’m sure will find a home at some fortunate publication. Helen’s writings never fail to comfort me.

After the critters left, Nemo and I settled in, snug and warm while a cold rain fell outside. I told him what a lucky dog he is to have wandered, homeless, into my brother’s shop five years ago and found a comfortable home in Arkansas. Or, maybe I’m the lucky one. There’s one thing that’s certain: friends are the spice of life and I’m blessed to have them.
