The day began foggy but the fog quickly turned to rain. No matter. The fourteen ladies inside Fran’s house yesterday brought sunshine to an otherwise gloomy day.
Fran’s retreats are always special and this one was too. After a bountiful breakfast, we watched a video on Knowing God’s Will. Then came a time of quiet reflection.
I have never worried over-much about God’s will. I know that He wants us to love and serve Him and each other. We are to be truthful, keep other people’s reputations intact as if they were our own, and find ways to praise our Creator through words and actions. I know that purposely saying hurtful things to or about someone is wrong. I believe if we search the Scriptures we can find His will for many things.
But what about our vocations, the way we make a living? Is that spark within that puts the sunshine in our day guiding us to a God-willed activity? I’ve always thought so but now I’m not so sure. Some things are just way above my level of understanding. Some things I have to accept on faith and try not to worry about them. I’ve got to remember that worry doesn’t do anyone any good at all.
Tomorrow, the weather man says we may have more rain. I’m thinking that probably won’t keep authors and other interested people from trekking over to the Ozarks Electric building in Fayetteville for our yearly meeting. I plan to be there. Maybe I’ll see you there too.

Fran’s retreats are always a wonderful blessing and yesterday’s was spot on for many of us. Fran let’s God’s spirit guide her into the topics and truths we need to hear.
Right. Thanks for the comment, Peg.
