The clock has hours, minutes, and seconds but I have yet to see any clock that registers, “Someday.”
We all have goals that we dream of reaching. We want to travel and see the world. It’d be nice to be in better shape and start an exercise program. Having a daily Bible reading program would certainly be helpful. If we weren’t so rushed, we’d be kinder, less critical, more patient. We’d like to write a book but that’s only a dream; however, all these things would be nice and maybe we’ll actually achieve them–someday! If we just had enough time.
Long ago, I complained to an artist friend that I’d really like to try painting if I just had the time. I’ve never forgotten his answer. It was pretty unforgiving but it stuck with me. “You have just as many hours in the day as I have,” he said.
So, if we only had the time, we’d get out and pursue that goal and perhaps we will–someday! Well, why not today? No one is ever too old or too busy to start toward that dream whose flame flickers now and then in our hearts. If we can’t take long, expensive trips, short jaunts may be possible. Taking only ten or fifteen minutes to read the Bible each day would give us a spiritual vitamin supply that would energize the whole day. And it takes no more time to speak kindly than it does to be snappy. Writing that book? Well, if I can do it, so can you!
So, someday? It isn’t on the clock so let’s banish it from our vocabulary. After all, we are only assured of today. Yesterday is gone; we can’t change it. Tomorrow is yet to come and holds no promises. But, today? Today is mine! And yours! Let’s make every minute count.
Today I am privileged to host a group of ladies who believe in this motto. It’s Cozy Critter time again!
Tomorrow on this blog site, a fellow Pen-L author, Lia Mack, will be a guest. She has an inspiring story that you’ll want to read and then check out her book on Pen-L.com and Amazon.
