Blizzards and Bugs

Blizzards and Bugs

The sun warms the tattered brown leaves of the maple outside my window, turning them to gold. This day is starting out to be beautiful; a little nippy, but all in all, a nice day. A far cry from the people in the northeast who are expecting a blizzard today and tomorrow, worse than any they’ve ever seen. It makes me sad to think, when the blizzard ends, several people will have lost their lives. It seems that no matter how many warnings are put out by the weather bureau, there will be some who die from exposure or accidents. I wish it were not so. I’d like to picture you all in that area sitting snug and warm inside your houses, sort of like the people in “Snowbound” by John Greenleaf Whittier.

The front lawn will soon be boasting a few crocus, now that last year’s leaves are gone. Matt, Dawn, Sara and Nathan mulched those leaves a couple of weeks ago and things look more up and coming.

In convalescing from The Grunge, I’m doing a lot of reading (when I’m not sleeping, due to cough med). All in one day I read Virtual Enemies by Sharon Rose and Alvin Mierke. Couldn’t put it down. If you like cozies, you’ll like this one!

May the Lord bless each of you, my readers. For those of you in the path of the blizzard, please stay safe. For those of us who are not, let’s remember and pray for others in harm’s way.

  1. Thanks for the plug, Blanche. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was published as Who Needs Enemies? many years ago but since it was out of print, I thought I’d rewrite a bit and just put it on Kindle. Actually, it was another one my husband dug up. He copied the whole book onto the computer! I just bought another one of your books. The other one I had was the old copy so will reread and write a review for your Canadian readers!

  2. Thanks for the compliment, Blanche, but I think you are a better writer. I don’t think I take the time that I should. Your books are more thought-out. I’m too impatient.
