Goofy, Giddy Grandma

Goofy, Giddy Grandma

I finished book 2 and a few chapters of book 3. Everyone, these books are really good; don’t pass them by.” This is a quote from Mary Alice Baker Ferguson on my Facebook page. Thanks, Mary Alice. I appreciate the comments and compliments from those who have read one or more of the Darcy and Flora Cozy Mysteries. The first one Barbara and I wrote was The Cemetery Club. The next year, Grave Shift was published. The third book, Best Left Buried, is newly published this year. They make dandy gifts, either paperback or ebook. In fact, I’m pleased that the three books bundled together as one gift are quite popular.

Yesterday, the children and I decorated for Christmas. Now, the tree beside my desk is glowing with soft lights, the small evergreen in a pot on the porch is aglow too. So is the light in the fountain; but then, it shines all year.

Digging into boxes of decorations, rediscovering old friends we hadn’t seen for a year made us a trifle giddy, especially me. We tried to get Nemo into the fun, but he didn’t like the Santa hat, so I wore it.

After they decorated, Sara and Nathan decided to make fudge. They measured, mixed, and stirred and the result was some pretty tasty candy. Along with the decorations, lights, and sweet treats, the Spirit of Christmas lit my house. And that is the best gift of all.
