A Big Box of Beautiful Books

A Big Box of Beautiful Books

They came, that box of beautiful books! These are not just any books but the Darcy and Flora Cozy Mysteries set in Levi, Oklahoma filled with interesting people you will surely want to meet. We can all remember the rapture with which we gazed on the newborn face of our children for the very first time. Not to say that gazing at my box of books was quite so thrilling but, let me tell you, I did get a satisfying, warm feeling as I looked at their intriguing covers!

If you haven’t already gotten past the cover and strolled into Levi, let me extend to you, from Darcy and her mother Flora, an invitation to drop in at the hundred-year old farm-house and share a cup of coffee. And a chat. While you are there, you might also glimpse Darcy’s tall, slim heart-throb Grant Hendley or catch a whiff of cherry-flavored pipe tobacco; that is, if Jackson Conner is in the vicinity. But Flora would know more about that than I.

Those who are familiar with Tahlequah, Oklahoma may feel that you’ve seen some of the scenery described in the books. Does Deertrack Hill remind you of a steep, winding hill east of town? Does the Ventris River sound like another river whose name you know quite well? Just wondering.

Several of you have told me you’ve gotten the set of three and are starting to read. Remember that you can order from Pen-L.com, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, BooksAMillion.com, or maybe some other places that I’m not yet aware of.  Quite a few of you are waiting for the ebooks. They are in the works and will soon be available.

I’m trying to figure out how you can order from me too. I’ll be glad to autograph those I sell personally. So far, I’m still working on all the nuts and bolts but I’ll let you know.

Isn’t it wonderful that these cozy mysteries made their appearance at the same time as our polar cold snap? What a great way to wait out the frigid temperatures and forget about the icy wind and the promised snow. Snuggling up with a good book in front of the fireplace might just be a mystery reader’s form of hibernation!

  1. I’m waiting on the set I ordered from Barnes & Noble. Anxious to receive them and to start reading them again! They so remind me of the times with my own Mom – sitting around the old dining room table drinking a cup of tea. (Mom was English and I hadn’t yet discovered the joys of a great cup of coffee). These are wonderful books.
