A New Day Dawnin’

A New Day Dawnin’

Lots of reasons to celebrate this morning. There’s a new day dawnin’; it lies before me like a clean, fresh piece of paper with no words on it as of it. A new week with lots of opportunities is here. My three Darcy and Flora Cozy Mysteries are available both on Pen-L.com and Amazon.com! Yea! May I suggest that a cozy mystery is an excellent Christmas gift and that special day is fast approaching, is, in fact, just around the corner!

Another reason to celebrate: Sergeant Tahmooressi, the Marine who served in Afghanistan and was unjustly imprisoned in Mexico for eight months is free! May he soon be on the road to recovery. I can only imagine the relief he and his family must feel.

Our Sunday School lesson yesterday continued to be on Joseph. He did no wrong, was sold into slavery by his own brothers, unjustly accused in Egypt and thrown into jail but God worked all that out for his ultimate good and for the good of his family. Many times I can’t see why things happen or what possible reason there could be, but I can’t see the ending of the story. Only God knows that. And He is in control.

Election Day is tomorrow! We citizens of this great Nation have the opportunity to change things by our vote. It is important that we know what and who are on the ballot. We must be informed and not vote blindly. I will tell you that a good many years ago, I changed political parties. I realized the party I had been a member of for years no longer represented my views. When we vote for a person, we are saying that we agree with what that person stands for. My voting guide is the Bible. If God says something is wrong, I believe it is wrong no matter what the person running for office says. Please don’t vote one way because that’s the way your parents or grandparents have voted. The Lord gave us intelligence. It’s up to us to use it.

I’m grateful this morning for a new day, a new week, a new month and new chances to make a difference for good, no matter how small that difference is.  May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (from Numbers 6)

  1. I have always appreciated the story about Joseph too. Even though he was not under Law, he still knew if he gave in to Pharoah’s wife, he would sin against God. Shows that we were created with a conscience. Sadly, so many do not follow that God-given conscience today.
