Updates and Outlook

An update on the homeless dog I mentioned yesterday. I phoned the Humane Society of Tahlequah and reported him and they went out to search for him. They took food and water and left it so there is hope. Maybe he will find the food and water and maybe, just maybe, he will find a good home.

At last, I got back to the exercise class yesterday where everyone was impressed with the picture of me kissing the Blarney Stone! I think if I had not been going to exercise class, climbing those thirteen stories to get to the stone would have been nearly impossible. I’m a firm believer in exercise!

And the three Darcy and Flora cozies are very nearly proof-read for the final time. My thanks to Dawn for helping out! She has a keen eye and can spot needed  corrections quickly. And, my thanks to Matt, who is up-dating my website.

Leaves are beginning to change color and fall from the trees. It is hard to believe that summer has passed; we are well into fall and winter is just around the corner! The weather reminds me of a line of one of my favorite poems by Dixie Willson, “I like the fall, the mist and all. I like the night owl’s lonely call–and wailing sound of wind around.”

Each autumn, I get out a very old copy of Childcraft and leave the book open either to that poem or to one by Walter De La Mare, “Some one came knocking at my wee, small door; someone came knocking, I’m sure, sure, sure.”

The seasons change; children grow; national crises arise. I am reminded of a discontinued soap opera, “As the World Turns”. This earth spins along and sometimes we have to hang on tight to our faith, but we do hang on! And we trust and hope and do our best to help each other. We not only look out, we look up to our Creator and are encouraged that He is still with us.
