Tuesday Tidbits

Tuesday Tidbits

My neighbor’s day lilies are blooming, a bright spot in the early morning. A gray cat slips behind them and scoots around the corner of his garage. I wonder where he has been and where he’s going. Mr. Gray, the gray and white tomcat that has adopted me is nowhere in sight this morning. He may come around later and check his food dish.

I could hardly believe it last night when I heard rain hitting the deck once again. I’ve lost count of how many days in a row we’ve had intermittent sunshine and showers, mostly showers.

On the front lawn, an alert robin hops through wet grass listening and looking for a worm. This must be easy pickin’s for robins since worms tend to come to the surface during a rain.

My raised flower bed needs to be de-grassed. If it stops raining long enough, I’ll take care of that little chore. A good thing about container gardens is not worrying about weeds and grass, but the flowers not in containers need attention.

So, on into Tuesday and, instead of growing lighter, the morning grows darker. It would not surprise me one bit to hear rain on the deck again.
