I wonder if they breathed a sigh of relief – those pretty little impatiens that stuck their toes in the soil under my oak tree yesterday? Hopefully, they’ll feel right at home with plenty of room to grow and spread out, and bloom to their full potentials. A few yellow marigolds keep them company and guard against any pesky insects that might come calling.
Yesterday, I re-connected with a distant cousin in Nashville. I hadn’t heard from him in years and, as his email caught me up on the happenings of his life, I thought about changes that come to each of us. Nothing stays the same. Life is like a river, always moving with different currents, some slow, some swift, through dark and sunny days and our small boats are carried along.
My publisher sent around an email of published and soon to be published books and there, in black and white, were the names of Barbara’s and my cozy mysteries, all three. The Cemetery Club, Grave Shift, and Best Left Buried, the Darcy/Flora cozy mystery series, will be released this fall. Thrilling!
And then, as a bonus at the end of a busy day, I sat on my deck enjoying the coolness and made a happy discovery: the lightning bugs are back! The breeze brought a hint of honeysuckle that grows on the back fence, those tiny winged lanterns flew above the grass in the back yard and I thanked God for a day that was filled with a little of this, a little of that, and a whole lot of sunshine!
Fantastic! I know you’re thrilled to see that all 3 wonderful books will be published in the fall!
I’m so happy for you. Keep us posted!
Thanks for your comment, Peg. Yes, I’m happy to see they are coming out in the fall. I’m looking forward to the final phases.
