A New Day Dawning

A New Day Dawning

The Lord’s mercies are new every morning and, since this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. For all of being in a coil, yesterday was a good day and I did accomplish a few things. So, I could see a bit of progress.

The day ended nicely with a phone call from my cousin Jerry. He and Carol were in town and wanted to take me out to eat, so, that was neat. We had a good time visiting and eating and visiting some more. It was nice to see home folk.

It’s interesting how spring seems to bring a renewal of life in many ways. My street is bustling a bit. A family is moving out (a very nice family) and a new one may be about to move in. Another neighbor is doing something to the trees in his back yard. Do you remember Gladys Cravitz on the TV show, Bewitched? I’m not actually as bad as Gladys but I do like to see the interesting activity that shows that people are busy, happy with their lives, and looking forward to the future.

I could hardly believe the headline on Drudge yesterday about Oklahoma and earthquakes. They are becoming more numerous and bear watching. And, Los Angeles has issued a fault map showing lines that go under schools, churches, and, in general, many highly populated areas. We have a fault line in Arkansas too. These are things that should be taken seriously.

It seems to me that we should also take seriously the Word of the Lord and trust in His goodness. It is comforting to know that He holds the future and each day and what it brings is in His hands.

Hello Blanche. Yes, the earthquakes – recalls to mind the things Jesus said would occur and one was great earthquakes!

    • Yes, I’ve thought of that often, Sharon. Wars and rumors of war, general unrest. I believe we should be praying for mercy and putting our faith in the Lord.
