Nemo and I went on the deck–I with my coffee. For some reason, Nemo doesn’t care for coffee! But, chicken? Well, that’s another matter. It was peaceful on the deck–quiet and with birds just waking up. Tree frogs are back too. They come early, in fact, and I really like to hear them. As long as there are little wild critters about, there is hope for the future.
My lavender plants are still standing, stalwart and fragrant, in the herb bed. Seeds haven’t had time to sprout yet. Once again this year, Peg is going to plant sunflower seeds. I’ve planted them too. It’s funny–one year, we both had lovely sunflowers and didn’t plant them. I guess the birds did–maybe as a thank you for all those sunflower seeds I provide each winter. Anyway, each spring since then, she has planted sunflower seeds as have I, and neither of us can coax them into growing.
The thermometer tells me it’s cool this morning–sixty five degrees. Perhaps the day will be comfortable. No sunshine yet, though. So, maybe rain? There’s none in the forecast.
Whatever your plans for the day, I hope you find time for a few moments to listen to the birds and just to enjoy nature, as God made it. It’s really quite wonderful.
