Yesterday I wrote about my thoughts being a potpourri, a mixture of this and that. The day turned out to be that way too. The good far out-weighed the bad and the bad wasn’t all that bad; I took a tumble but the good part was, I sprang right up with no assistance, I didn’t break anything and feel fine this morning!
The coffee and cookies (on the lid, it had the English word, “biscuits”) were delicious in Peg’s sunny house and the conversation was the comfortable talk of friends. Her flowers are peeking up in the front yard and that is a hopeful sign that spring is on the way. The person came to mulch my leaves and did a great job. The yard certainly looks better than it has looked all winter. The sun shone, birds sang, and squirrels chased each other in a wild game of tag. And, wonderful news–good word from my publisher. It looks like Best Left Buried will soon see the light of day! Now, that’s enough to make even a cloudy day (which it wasn’t) bright!
My life is blessed with family and friends who don’t mind hearing about my ups and downs. They give sound advice and support. Yesterday, I wrote about tenacity and, let me tell you, tenacity grows a lot stronger with the encouragement of those whose opinions I value!
So, this morning I was thinking about the warmth of friendship (my family are friends too). I thought about quilts and how much life is like a homemade quilt. Some of the colors are bright, some are dark by contrast, but they all go together to make the quilt. When nights are cold and dark, when I fall or fail either figuratively or literally, those quilts, like encouragement and love, comfort me.
A Thought: “May your day be blessed with the love of those who willingly walk with you through the good and the bad, the rainy days as well as the sunny ones.”
