The wind felt like it was off ice. Leaves lay inches deep in my yard (the white mulberry decided to drop ninety-five per cent of its leaves at the same time) yet, yesterday the cozy critters trooped through the cold to share a cup of coffee or glass of tea, cookies, stimulating conversation, and insightful ideas on what makes good writing even better.
We missed Nancy but Peg, Jane, Helen and I made up our group. Jane read a wonderful historic poem on the city of Johnson, plus a vivid remembrance of her childhood. Helen read three more devotionals and I read Granny Grace’s 1918 journal which Darcy and Flora found. Peg tuned in with her reader’s antennae and gave us her feedback on our writings. Helen also shared a published book in which two of her devotions are printed.
I’m sure you would like to see this wonderful group of ladies who make up the cozy critters so I decided to take a picture. Only thing is, for some reason, a group of inanimate objects showed up in our places. What happened with that remains a mystery, but you get the idea that everyone had a good time and are looking forward to our next cozy critique.
Love the picture. It looks almost like us.
