Hope for America

Did you see the Billy Graham special last night on Fox? If you didn’t, the video is still there in Sean Hannity’s time slot. It is worth watching! Billy Graham is ninety-five years old now and seeing him makes me realize how quickly time has passed. I have watched Reverend Graham through the years and listened to his dynamic sermons; they were fiery but very simple: Jesus is the only way to God. Time has taken a toll on Mr. Graham’s vigor and strength but his message is still the same. It was titled, “My Hope America”. And indeed, Jesus is the only hope we have. All the ills, all the crime and corruption, the struggle for power at the cost of others’ freedom, the uncertainty and fear will go on until we quit apologizing and declare that Jesus is our hope, America.

Autumn here in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma is pretty well perfect at the moment, but that can’t be said for other places, for example, the Philippines. A massive typhoon is slamming that section of our world. My friend Norma’s son Steve and his family are there. Norma has asked for prayers for Steve and all those in the storm’s furious path. Prayer is more powerful than the wind and we will trust the Lord for His protection.

My hope for you is for a day of peace, a heart of joy, and willing hands and feet to help others.

Thank you for sharing my concern and request for prayer for Steve. No word from him yet. It is night there and sounds as if there is no cell service. It may be days before we hear from him. I’ve also contacted his wife, and Lailah’s grandma. I’m trusting God for his continued protection and blessings.
