I’m so glad the Cozy Critique was yesterday instead of today. This is the day when the temperature is forecast to take a nosedive. But yesterday, well, it was a pleasant day inside and out, and it may well have been the calm before a winter storm. Today is beginning cloudy and still, as if waiting.
It was great to have another meeting, the first of the New Year, and the first since before Christmas. Jane, who is full of news and pictures about her new puppy Sadie, led us off with reading two beautiful poems: Moonlight Memories and Moon and Stars. These poems celebrate the beauty of the night sky.
Nancy, author of The Grace Impact, has been busy with many activies. She had a full December with speaking and writing. She spoke in Harrison, Arkansas and also in Branson, Missouri, sharing a Christmas message called Holly Dazed. As well as writing on her blog, www.NancyKayGrace.com, Nancy contributes to an online publication called Publishous on Medium.com.
As if this didn’t make her schedule full enough, Nancy also teaches seven piano students.
Peg has had a cold that has slowed down her reading; nevertheless, she has read Scones and Scoundrels by Molly MacRae and thought it was time well spent. It had lots of mystery, and lots of humor made it very enjoyable.
United Gospel Press has accepted my latest assignment and Southern Writers Magazine has asked me to write another guest blog. That and the current work in progress, Ghost of Moonlight Past has kept me busy, as well as writing this daily blog. But writing is something I love so none of it seems like work.
In between writing, I am reading a series that is new to me–the mysteries of Catherine Aird. I wouldn’t say they are cozy and neither are they a police procedural. They are somewhere between these two.
Some of you are enjoying wonderfully warm weather; some are in the middle of snow and ice. Whatever your weather, I hope you enjoy the day and remember to be sure that all your mysteries are cozy ones!
