Thoughtfully Thankful and Blessed

Thoughtfully Thankful and Blessed

What is there about milestones or days of celebration that make us pause and reflect? I could do that any other day of the year, but at Thanksgiving or Christmas, past Thanksgivings and Christmases come trooping in to pay a call. And that’s all right, unless those memories cause such sadness as to mar the present day. So, the answer? Just be thankful for all those past celebrations and include them in today’s.

Speaking of blessings, I couldn’t even list them all. Impossible because I have new ones every day. Of course, I’m thankful for the Lord Jesus, for a family that I love more than I can say, for freedom, for the blessings of being an American,  And then, many, many others. I’m thankful for you, my readers. I’ve never met a lot of you but I consider you my friends and I’m grateful you came my way (or I came your way?)

Today I plan to start my yeast rolls (I’ll let them rise a final time and bake them tomorrow) and I’ll bake a pie crust for cream pie (tomorrow) crumb up the bread and mince the onion and celery for dressing. Yesterday, I cooked cranberries and baked biscuits and cornbread for the dressing. By the way, I noticed my pretty little sage plant in the herb garden looks sprightly. Will sage work if it isn’t dried first?

Whatever you do tomorrow, I hope your day is bright with pleasant happenings and lovely memories that gladden your heart instead of making you sad. Dawn and Matt have this pretty sign on their front door. This is for you. Welcome to my blog and for sharing a bit of my Thanksgiving.
